After all, he had never won anything before; and, therefore, thought maybe it was a prank call. It was only after he received the assurance from his Credit Relations Officer, Candice Campbell-Boyd that he was finally convinced that he was a winner!
The JNSBL Valentine’s Day BizEvents Loans Promotions held from January 26, to February 13, 2015 was open to clients who borrowed up to a maximum of $250,000 under the BizEvents loan product, during the period. The competition was open to both first and repeat JNSBL clients.
Mr. Levy, who operates a retail cooking gas business on Spanish Town Road, said he decided to enter his name in the competition; but, had no idea he would actually win. And, he was still in disbelief when he turned up at the JNSBL office in downtown, Kingston on March 6 to collect his prize.
“I have never won anything before,” he explained, “Therefore, it was really a surprise when I got the call saying I had won. At first, I thought it was a scam; but, when the person didn’t ask for any money and only asked me to repeat the JNSBL slogan, “Believing in you.” After that, I received a WhatsApp message from my Credit Relations Officer, and finally believed that I won.”
For the past five years he has been a JNSBL client; having secured funds to grow his ten-year-old business. He said he always wanted to go on a vacation on the North coast; but, did not have the funds.
“I had always wanted to go to a luxurious hotel and it is great that I finally can. I really appreciate it; because, before this, I could only dream of doing it. Now, I am happy to be able to go,” he exclaimed.
Thelma Yong, Deputy General Manager of the JNSBL congratulated Mr. Levy for winning the promotion.
“I am very happy for Mr. Levy, not only because he has won; but, for the fact that he has taken steps to grow his business; and his five year development plan has been rewarded. I do hope that he enjoys his vacation; and look forward to his continuing business development relationship with us,” said Mrs. Yong.
