The management and staff of the Jamaica National Canada Representative Office wish our valued members and customers a Happy New Year!

I hope you celebrated the start of 2019 in good spirits with family and friends. Now that we’re some days into the New Year, it’s good to look ahead and think about what this year may bring us.

But first, let’s take a look back at some of our achievements for the year that was. In 2018, The Jamaica National Group continued on its mission of providing our members and customers with access to financial products and services to achieve their potential. These included an expanded range of options to finance home and property purchases, and importantly, a significant contraction of the time it normally takes to receive mortgage financing.

Our team also remained true and loyal to the community as we supported several worthy causes such as Camp Jumoke, an organisation dedicated to enriching the lives of children living with Sickle Cell Disease.

In addition, we hosted another successful staging of the JN Group Canada Expo, in Brampton and Montreal. Thousands of Canadians, mainly Jamaicans residing in Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga, Ottawa and Montreal attended the expo, held under the theme: Connect, Learn, Grow.”

Other activities for the year included the hosting of the ‘Outlook for the Future Series’, which focused on crime in Jamaica. Our guest speaker was Jamaica’s new Commissioner of Police, Major General Antony Anderson, who shared his plans for a safer Jamaica. We also hosted a series of mortgage seminars, aimed at connecting you with developers and providing information on the financing purchases of property in Jamaica. These seminars are scheduled to continue this year.

In 2019, we look forward to your continued engagement with us as we endeavour to serve you better.  Some of the activities to anticipate include: JN Bank Canada Mortgage Seminar Series, which resumes in February; Taste of Jamaica Investment Forum in April; and the Jamaica Diaspora Conference, which takes place in June in Kingston, Jamaica. We look forward to seeing you at these events, as we showcase critical Jamaican services and real estate opportunities.

We look forward to 2019 and promise that we will strive to engage you in more meaningful ways; and assist you to grow financially.

Mr. Jerrold Johnson

Chief Representative Officer
