The activities form part of a series of engagement sessions by our team at the JN Bank Canada Representative Office to connect with Jamaicans in Canada and highlight the role JN continues to play in communities in Jamaica and overseas. Led by Chief Representative Officer, Paulette Sterling, these activities include a roadshow and the recently launched JN Road to Homeownership weekends.
Since March 2023, several events have been held, including a roadshow stop at the Ebenezer Holiness Church of God (March), a โMeet and Greetโ reception at the West Toronto Church of God Gymnasium (June 9) and Bramptonโs Congress of Black Women Canada walkathon (June 10).
The CRO also made a courtesy call on the Hon. Charmaine Williams, MPP, Brampton & Associate Minister of Womenโs Social & Economic Opportunity (June 24) and attended The Alliance of Jamaica Alumni Association Graduates Awards Ceremony (July 9). At the awards ceremony, the JN Bank Representative Office also provided two high achieving and inspiring graduating high school students of Jamaican ancestry with bursaries to attend University.
Just recently, the JN Bank Canada team was in Montreal for the 2023 Jamaica Day Celebrations in Martin Luther King Park (July 22). They also engaged JN members as well as Executives of the Jamaica Association of Montreal and made a visit to the historic Union United Church.

- Paulette Sterling, Chief Representative Officer, JN Bank Canada Representative Office, paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Charmaine Williams MPP, Brampton & Associate Minister of Womenโs Social & Economic Opportunity at her office in June. The pair discussed how JN has been connecting the Jamaican Diaspora in Canada to home and helping them achieve their financial goals. Brampton is one of the top growing cities in Canada and home to many Jamaicans, including several JN members.
- Paulette Sterling, Chief Representative Officer, JN Bank Canada Representative Office, (centre) and other JN Canada team members, Steffi Blackburn (left) and Tameka Crawford (right), were among the participants at Bramptonโs Congress of Black Women Canada walkathon on June 10. The event was held under the theme โEducate, Motivate, Empowerโ. Proceeds from the event went to The Congress of Black Woman Ontario- Brampton Chapter Scholarship Fund.
- Paulette Sterling, chief representative officer at the JN Bank Canada Representative Office, shares lens with high school graduate, Risheema Edwards, at the Alliance of Jamaica Alumni Association Graduates Bursary Awards Ceremony on July 9. Risheema is one of two graduates of Jamaican descent who received a bursary to attend university from the Representative Office during the ceremony, held in Concord Ontario under the theme, โCelebrating our legacy-embracing the futureโ. She will be attending Seneca College.
- Paulette Sterling, Chief Representative Officer, JN Bank Canada Representative Office, shares a picture with Cedric Campbell, one of two high school graduates of Jamaican descent to be awarded a bursary to attend University by the Representative Office at the Alliance of Jamaica Alumni Association Graduates Awards Ceremony in July. Cedric will be attending the Toronto Metropolitan University.
