JN Small Business Loans (JNSBL) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) have collaborated to provide assistance to micro and small entrepreneurs. The agreement was signed at the JN Conference Centre on Duke Street in downtown Kingston recently.
โJN Small Business Loans welcomes the collaboration with the USAID geared at boosting entrepreneurship in Jamaica, particularly in underserved communitiesโ Gillian Hyde, general manager, JNSBL said.
The programme will see USAID providing support to establish businesses in 25 communities by way of infrastructure build out and key business support services; with JNSBL extending ongoing loan facilities geared and supporting the financial needs of these businesses.
Denise Herbol, mission director of USAID expressed her appreciation for JNSBL as one of the early loan institutions which continues to support the industry and the many initiatives of the USAID. Ms Herbol noted that, โThere is a real need to focus on the small business sector, at this time.โ
Mrs Hyde affirmed that, โJNSBL has always sought to finance small business persons particularly in underserved markets and looks forward to ensuring we continue to do that.โ
