With a solid background of over 35 years of cross-financial industry expertise across the Caribbean, Howard Lawrence was appointed Chief – Credit Risk Management for JN Bank in July 2022. His title was later changed in the same year to Chief- Credit Operations. He joined the Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) in February 2016, as Senior Manager, Chief Adjudicator, Retail Loans.

In his current role, he provides strategic oversight of the Bank’s Credit organisation to ensure that the various processes are carried out in strict conformance with established policies and procedures, as well as loan administration and services. He ensures that adjudication of loan requests, preparation of loan documentation, disbursements of all Retail, Business and Development credit facilities and handling of all credit-related queries/requests by members are handled efficiently and in line with established policies and procedures.

Mr Lawrence holds a BSc. in Human Resource Management from the University College of the Caribbean and the MBA, Chartered Banker from Bangor University – among other notable educational credentials.

He is a strong leader who has demonstrated his ability to direct team members in achieving job targets and career objectives and has a proven track record in leading teams through organisational changes by maintaining focus on the ‘big picture’ imperatives.
